TOPIC: ART OF THE ANCIENT WORLD (EGYPTIAN ART)
The story of art started with the Egyptians in about 400BC. This art was connected with the Egyptian religious belief. They believed that their king, Pharaoh, was a divine being who had control over them. They also believed that when he dies, he will ascend to the gods from where he came from. Because of this, they embalm the corpse, wrap and keep it in a tomb. Such preserved corpse is known as MUMMY. The major art work of the Egyptians are the pictures of the dead, models and pyramids. Every Egyptian learns art from youth and draws from memory and work on strict rules of not drawing things as seen by the observer. Every Egyptian must also learn the art of beautiful script known as HIEROGLYPHIC.
