TOPIC: INTRODUCTION TO CHOREOGRAPHY
Choreography is a technique of representing the various movements in dancing by a system of notation. It is also the making and arrangement of dances.
PRINCIPLES OF CHOREOGRAPHY
*It must have variety.
*There must be orderly arrangement of dance steps.
*It must be beautiful.
PROCESS OF CHOREOGRAPHY
*conception of the idea.
*Gathering of the movement.
*Putting and arranging the movements by teaching the dancers.
*Creating the final structure and polishing it for performance.
WHO IS A CHOREOGRAPHER? He is a theatre artist who creates, arranges dances and teaches dancers to perform a dance to the delight of the audience.
THINGS THAT MAKES A CHOREOGRAPHER DIFFERENT FROM A DANCER
*He creates dance compositions.
*He plans and arranges dance movements.
*He teaches dancers to perform a dance.
