BASIC SCIENCE JSS 1
FORCE
A force is an action that moves or tries to move an object or change the speed and direction of a moving object.So force can make an object to move faster,slower or stop.It can be measured using a spring balance.The unit for measuring force is the Newton(N).One Newton is the force that moves object office one kilogram through a distance of one metre.
So Force=mass of object x acceleration of object
So F=m x a
Question
1. calculate the force on an object of mass=50kg which moves with acceleration of 20 metres per second.

Solution
Force=mass x acceleration
F=50×20=1000Newton

Assignment
1. Explain a.mass b.acceleration c.gravity
